Exploring Different Periodontal Treatment Approaches
Our dedicated dental team collaborates with you to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to
your specific requirements. Periodontal treatment typically falls into two main categories:
non-surgical and surgical.
Non-Surgical Periodontal Treatment
In the initial stages of addressing gum disease, non-surgical treatment is often recommended. This
may involve deep teeth cleaning, also known as root
scaling, to eliminate plaque and tartar below the gumline. In some cases, antibiotics, whether
applied topically or taken internally, may be prescribed to aid in the healing process.
Surgical Periodontal Treatment
When gum loss is extensive, and tooth roots are exposed, surgical intervention may become necessary.
One option is soft tissue grafting, where tissue,
often obtained from the roof of the mouth, is grafted onto the area requiring additional gum tissue.
Before finalizing a treatment plan, a comprehensive examination and X-ray evaluation will be
conducted to assess the condition of your teeth, gums, and bone structure.
